About Me

About me...hmmm...well, nothing fancy that's for sure. I am a simple girl who loves the Lord and my family. I am a "stay at home" mom who does her best to homeschool two of my children. I live out in the country (well, some of my friends would say out in the middle of nowhere) and I love it here. Life moves a little slower and that's good because most of the time life flies by and if you aren't careful, you will miss the really good stuff. God has truly blessed me and I dont want to take any of it for granted. I don't claim to be a writer, so pardon the grammar and typos....I just want to share my heart with others. I hope you will enjoy what you find here. God Bless!!!

My Family

Here's my family starting with my husband...Travis...almost 12 years ago I married the love of my life.  It was a second marriage for both of us.  He brought two wonderful children into the marriage....Brandy and Christopher.  I love them both like they were my very own.  I had one son at the time-James.  We made a commitment that day to make sure that all three children were loved equally....In my 14 years of being with Travis I could probably count on one hand the times we have said the awful "step" word....lol... After we got married we decided we wanted to have a child of our own.  Hailey was the first one, and the only one we thought...however God had other plans.  He surprised us with Zachary...right after her...like, 101/2 months after!!  That was a very crazy time for us, but I can't imagine my life without every single one of them in it!!

So, here they are......

The year 2010 was a really big one for Brandy.  She had her Senior Prom....with a very special escort, her big brother.  Then in June we made the trip to Stephens City, VA to see her graduate.  It was a very emotional day watching her go across that stage.  Travis and I were so proud of her!!  Congratulations "Bran-Bran"....

Christopher is the oldest, 22, and I would love to post some more recent pics of him on here, but we don't get to see much of him....This is from Easter of 2009, so its a couple of years old, but thats ok.  He lives in VA still and works ....and he's trying to grow up ...lol...You all remember how it was to be that age!!!

And here's James...at 17 yrs old, he is now a Jr. in high school...So hard to believe!!!  One more year and he will be done.  And as you can see he is planning a career in the military.  This is his JROTC uniform.  I don't think he has decided which branch of service yet, but there's no talking him out of going into one.  Although I  am very proud of his decision I know it will be very hard on me when the day comes!!!!

This pic introduces two of my family members at the same time...LOL....Which makes perfect sense because they are hardly ever apart!!   This is Hailey (10) holding one of our puppies, Chestnut.  She loves that doggie like crazy.  I dont know who is more spoiled.....?????  She has a heart for all animals and wants to be a vet when she grows up.

Zach is 9 now and he is 110% boy....This is him with our other puppy...Domino.  Zach loves to be outdoors doing anything. He builds forts, ladders, digs holes, makes rafts, hunts and can squat on the dock and fish for hours on end.  He is my inventor...his imagination is amazing!!

Here is Trailblazer....the daddy to the two small dogs.  He is a 13" beagle and we still aren't sure what attracted to a lil Pomeranian named Foxy????  Anyway they were all abandoned by the owners and I am such a sap I couldn't let animal control take them.  The mother dog was sick and I think they unfortunately had to put her down, but we have had the other 3 for awhile now.  They are super spoiled, but I don't know what we would do without them....They really are comical animals!!!!

.....and very patient, gentle animals....lol.....

                     Did I say spoiled????????

I guess that's all of us, minus a few hermit crabs and a pet turtle!!
